This project involved the home-staging skills of Justine Knox to be applied to a property that has been built for resale. The key when home-staging is to present a property in a way that it enhances the space and the materials, defining living spaces and providing a blank canvas on which prospective buyers are able to paint imagined lifestyles. The property is situated on higher ground inland, with magnificent views of the Mallorcan countryside and the sea in the distance. An environment that Justine Knox is very familiar with, as she lives in close proximity to this property. The aim was to convey the calm feel of a property surrounded by nature, with a jungle chic theme throughout.

The interior design makes the most of the natural light flooding the home through its many windows, diffused through the use of white voile window dressings. The open plan kitchen and dining area are white and luminous, with a comfortable linen green sofa on one end and green bar stools along the kitchen island, creating a multipurpose space for the whole family. The calm serenity of this spacious room is echoed in the reading corner, with chic basket hanging chair and shelf, and in the room chosen as a zen space for meditation. In sharp contrast with this area is the lounge, featuring two well defined areas. One with two comfortable burnt orange armchairs around the fireplace and beside the bar trolley in gold and glass promises evenings of cocktails and fun. The other space has a plush beige sofa and a stunning jungle themed wallpaper on the opposite wall with the leaf motif replicated in the wrought iron sculpture in the corner. Justine Knox always likes to add one or two special and singular pieces to her décor; in this case, the unique coffee table in the lounge is her very own recycled design, comprising the inside of a grand piano, all cased in wood and covered by glass.  Upstairs, the beautiful bedrooms are light and spacious. One of them features a very high headboard created from a wooden mandala panel with a mirrored background, which is set off by white soft furnishings and chrome lamps. The other two bedrooms echo the jungle theme motif in both the colour scheme of moss and laurel and cheerful fabric patterns, all the way to the two commissioned pieces of art by local artist Sylvia Baker de Perkal gracing the walls.

The villa boasts beautifully landscaped gardens featuring a swimming pool and terrace, planted areas, lawn and a covered dining space. All outdoor furniture is weather-proof, involving little maintenance. The jungle chic theme prevailing in the interior and exterior décor has created an overall sensation where the home and the garden are part of one harmonic whole. The result was a beautifully appointed holiday home that was ready to show off its best features and seduce buyers with its spaciousness, light and tasteful presentation. It sold fairly quickly and this evident success earned Justine Knox the project to home-stage the sister villa, which has since also sold at the right price and in record time, once again proving the importance of investing in expert home presentation when selling a property.
