The long list of tasks appearing at the top of the page indicates that this was an overall and ambitious renovation and interior design project, involving a luxurious family holiday home in Cala Mayor (Mallorca) overlooking the bay of Palma. The scope of this luminous multilevel upside-down house, with ample child-friendly spaces elsewhere, has allowed for the use of sophisticated and beautiful fabrics in the main living areas.

The general mood is one of contemporary serenity and glamour, of clean lines and finishes and modern geometric shapes and patterns. Art deco with a twist, exemplified in the metallic mirror in the hallway and the stunning chandelier gracing the stairwell. Across a glass floor one steps into the dining area, a wonderful entertaining space with bespoke chairs and crowned by three elegant ceiling lamps. At the other end is a comfortable sitting area with two armchairs, local artwork and intricate art deco wall light fixtures and floor lamp.

The main living room is bathed in natural light softened through automated sun blinds, where the sands and creams are set off by the impactful turquoise geometric wallpaper. In another corner, two turquoise wing chairs, a fireplace and a stunning sculpture sourced by the client create a more intimate space. This leads onto a light study area, with a modern desk, comfortable leather reading chair and local artwork on the wall.

The master bedroom is a calming and luxurious blend of chocolates and taupe. An ultra-contemporary bed and side tables, with an upholstered satin headboard set against the geometric wallpaper, with an abundance of throw pillows reflecting the colour palette of the room. A bespoke armchair is placed in the corner between the dual-aspect windows, framed y richly patterned curtains. The mood flows into the ensuite bathroom, with wooden floor and wetroom. From the soft and subdued ambience of the bedroom one steps out to the outdoor space, a gloriously sunlit area, with sun-washed decking surrounding the pool, comfortable while wicker furniture and tropical vegetation.
