This project was a complete overhaul of a townhouse in Bendinat (Mallorca). Having admired Justine’s work in other homes, the clients asked her to undertake a full renovation of this property, with the only request that it be colourful. But before décor could be addressed, walls had to be removed, the place was re-plumbed and rewired, kitchen and bathrooms were updated and new flooring and decking were laid down throughout. It was then time to decorate and accessorise the three floors of this villa, with a free palette of bold and vibrant hues to play with. Justine chose a key colour for every floor, featuring green, orange, a touch of gold, violet… For the lounge she selected a special Missoni fabric in this range of colours and custom-made cushions and curtains, which she mixed and matched with an opulent pale purple velvet sofa and carpet and a solid bright orange wall. Another coral sofa with black cushions is set against beautifully patterned Ralph Lauren black and white wallpaper. The open plan kitchen is modern and bright, with a breakfast bar with lime green leather stools and the contemporary dining area features a round glass table with purple chairs. Every one of the bedrooms has its own personality: lime green and white for a fresh and calming feel; bright coral, orange and white for a summery ambience; purple tones, bone and powder Prussian blues for the master bedroom. The bathrooms are elegant and functional, with highly original features: bright orange stucco walls in one and purple mosaic tiling in the shower of another. The outdoor spaces of the house include a lower garden with covered dining area and seating area, which Justine furnished and accessorised with original design pieces, and a roof terrace graced with wood decking, comfortable sunbeds and daybeds as well as an outdoor bar.
