Nestled in a renovated townhouse in the heart of Palma de Mallorca, this compact two-bedroom apartment was designed as a stylish lock-up-and-go base for a Swiss couple with grown-up children. With a shared love for the city’s vibrant culture, seaside charm, and incredible food scene, Mallorca was the perfect choice for their second home.
Brief & Vision
The brief was refreshingly bold: an eclectic, modern loft vibe with a playful touch—and plenty of practical storage. The couple’s background in IT, retail, and even a thrash metal band brought a unique energy to the design process. From the very first mood board, we were in sync on the vision: expressive, urban, and cleverly functional.
Smart Space Solutions
Though small in size, the apartment is full of smart design moves. We added extra cabinetry to the kitchen, incorporated storage bed bases, and found creative ways to tuck away essentials in both bathrooms and the terrace. The result is a space where everything has its place—crucial in a compact city home.
Personality, Murals & Terrace
A standout feature of this project is the use of wall murals instead of traditional art. These bold visuals helped define each space and gave the apartment a sense of creativity and individuality that reflected the clients’ eclectic style. The large terrace was also key to the design, offering space for alfresco dining and outdoor relaxation—an essential element of the Mallorcan lifestyle. This vibrant urban retreat is more than just a holiday home; it’s a reflection of the couple’s adventurous spirit and love for design that’s both practical and full of personality.
