Justine Knox has every reason to feel happy. She hasn’t even finished the rebranding for her interior design business and already the results are pouring in. Sitting at her desk, dressed in a characteristically colourful top, she has just been checking the progress of her ongoing projects – the latest of which is in Seattle, USA. “I’ve given myself the luxury of time to be really creative and do the best work I can do,” she says. She’s gained time by trusting in her trained and highly competent team to play a larger part in the running of the retail business.
The exact materials for your home
The retail business refers to the impressive 1000m² showroom and online store in Son Bugadelles. It’s an inspiring space bursting with furniture and home accessories. There’s everything from designer beds to bold textiles and statement pieces. The variety is exciting and it doesn’t stop there. While Justine may be playing a smaller part in the retail side of the business, she will always be actively engaged in searching for new and bespoke products. She believes each home is unique and tracking down the perfect materials and furnishings is an important part of her process.
Justine’s projects include renovations, new unfurnished homes and plots of land ready to build on. Many of her clients are second homeowners in Mallorca. An increasing number are also asking her to work her magic on their first homes, too. Clients often leave all the decision-making to her which she doesn’t find in the least bit daunting. “I’ve never had a problem with vision. I just look at a blank canvas and see it finished.”
“The big reveal is what really gets me excited,” she says. “Touch wood I’ve never had anyone turn up and not like what I’ve done.” Big reveals are set to happen all over the world in the near future. With new projects in both Europe and America, this adventurous interior designer is certainly broadening her horizons.
